Fundraising Manager

We are seeking a Fundraising Manager with experience of helping to secure five and six-figure donations and with a passion for the 1851 Trust’s work inspiring young people. Working alongside the Chief Executive and specialist fundraisers, you will be responsible for planning, supporting and leading activities to engage new and existing funders. This is a great opportunity and an exciting time to help deliver the next phase of the Trust’s growth and development.
You will bring experience of raising income yourself, ideally across a range of funders including high net worth individuals, companies, trusts and foundations, and statutory partners. With developed skills in writing proposals, planning approaches and stewardship of supporters.

Digital Marketing Assistant

The 1851 Trust is recruiting a Digital Marketing Assistant to support the work of the Marketing and Communications Manager in recruiting teachers to our STEM Crew platform and promoting the programmes of the 1851 Trust through our digital channels. You will play an important role in increasing our reach specifically amongst the teaching community, to bring alive the excitement of INEOS TEAM UK’s challenge for the America’s Cup. You will join the small, motivated 1851 Trust Team based at the INEOS TEAM UK base in Portsmouth and report to the Marketing and Communications Manager.

Volunteers

Join our volunteer community at The 1851 Trust, where you can help young people discover the power of professional sailing and excite more young people about opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).

Volunteer roles range from supporting:

  • The Education team during school visits at our Education space in Portsmouth.
  • Our #NextGeneration roadshows around the country and other small events.

Volunteering opportunities are open to anyone aged 16 and over – all you need is enthusiasm and a willingness to get stuck in! A sailing, teaching or STEM background is desirable but not essential.
