Little Britain Challenge Cup chooses 1851 Trust as one of its Official Charities
The 1851 Trust is delighted to have been appointed as one of the Official Charities of the Little Britain Challenge Cup for 2016, which is taking place in Cowes from 9 – 10 September.
The Little Britain Challenge Cup has been bringing together thousands of property and construction industry professionals through sailing for 28 years, and has grown to become one of the top sporting events in the industry calendar.
The event has helped raise over a million pounds for sailing charities that do extraordinary work for the less fortunate in society.
Jo Stocks, CEO of the 1851 Trust, says; “We are delighted to have been chosen as one of the official charities for the Little Britain Challenge Cup this year. As a charity dedicated to inspiring and engaging young people with Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths through sailing, the link with this construction industry-focused sailing event is a perfect fit for us.”
Regatta Chairman of the Little Britain Challenge Cup, David Kong, explained; “Each year we choose a number of charities to support through our event. The 1851 Trust is especially relevant for our industry, as it is supporting a new generation of engineers and innovators who will drive our industry forward in the future.”
